Workplace Ergonomics: Understanding and Preventing Musculoskeletal Disorders and Injuries
This material has been developed to increase awareness about ergonomic issues with a goal of improving the health, safety, and job satisfaction of our workforce. Although the course was developed specifically for university academic program leaders and departmental supervisors, it contains valuable information for all university employees.
The course is presented in PowerPoint 2003 format and requires download to your computer. After viewing the materials, we invite you to take a brief survey in order to provide your feedback.
After completion, participants should be able to answer:
*What are musculoskeletal disorders (MSD’s)?
*What are the signs and symptoms that someone might have a MSD?
*What are the risk factors within the workplace that contribute to MSD’s?
*How can the risks for injury be reduced?
*How do employees report an injury and/or request an ergonomic evaluation?
