Abstract

The advocacy group People for the American Way reported 21 book challenges were made in Oregon during 1992-93 in its report "Attacks on the Freedom to Learn." Most challenges were related to religious objections, sexual content, and profane or objectionable language. The article highlights materials challenged in Central Oregon; challenges were down slightly compared with the previous year.
