Abstract

According to the author of this article, the Corvallis Public Library Staff recently handled the issue of displaying materials that challenged the Holocaust the right way by not allowing them to be displayed in the public display case. While the author says that libraries should be defenders of the free exchange of ideas, it should be through books and similar materials. Not through unlimited public access to a display case. The author says that this is a lesson for all public agencies in that it is very good to have clear policies that deal with the difference between free speech and political views before a problem arises.
