Board member holds a copy of the book in question
Ida Cannon, Boring school board member, discusses "In the Rabbitgarden" with another board member.
The Boring School District retained the book In the Rabbitgarden by Leo Lionni after a committee meeting. Wayne Poteet, a parent, wanted the book removed due to the similar storyline to the Bible story of Adam and Eve. Poteet said the book was a mockery of the story in Genesis. The committee made the recommendation that the book be kept and supported the decision with the idea that publishers and librarians need to make available a wide diversity of ideas.
