Abstract

Playboy Magazine will stay on the Coos Bay Public Library shelves. The library board took no testimony or votes and decided to let stand the rejection of the request of People Opposing Pornography to pull the magazine from shelves. Representatives from the library board and POP said the issue is not dead. POP intends to meet and discuss the board’s decision and may consult an Arizona organization about the next course of action. At the meeting ten letters were read into record. One was in favor of an age restriction, another was neutral, and most were in favor of letting the magazine stay on shelves. After the discussion Sanderson, POP, complained about the lack of a vote before the decision was made.
