Abstract

The author of this editorial argues that banning books in public libraries threatens our most basic freedom. The First Amendment protects our right to read what we choose, as well as to inform and be informed. Libraries are important because they “open the world of books to all of us.” Books challenged at local libraries include “My Friend Flicka” and “The Day They Came To Arrest the Book.”
