Abstract

Opponents of Ballot Measure 9 marched at a rally in Portland to protest the wide-sweeping proposal. Librarians fear that books about homosexuality will be banned if the measure passes. Measure 9 supporters oppose literature that portrays homosexuality as a positive and natural lifestyle. The American Civil Liberties Union and library groups will fight banning these books, but removal of some challenged books is likely.
