Abstract

A senior adult library user objected to limited access of some reference materials in the Bend Public Library. The adult was asked by library staff to leave the teen collection area because it is reserved for teens only. Though the adult was indignant, library officials say that age-specific areas are not discriminatory but ways to meet the needs of a diverse community. No formal complaint was filed, but the adult said he would protest the situation.
