Abstract

Ashland bookstore, Shakespeare Books & Antiques, is being boycotted by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival because of a racially offensive book in a Banned Books window display. Quotes from local community leaders expressed support for the display and its anti-censorship message, while an OSF member commented that such books and images perpetuate racism and insensitivity.
