Review Process for Res Cogitans
Papers published in Res Cogitans are selected from among those papers that are presented at the annual Pacific University Undergraduate Philosophy Conference, which is held every April at Pacific University, in Forest Grove, Oregon. Papers that are selected for presentation at the conference are chosen by the faculty of the Philosophy Department. Among those papers that are presented, the philosophy faculty identify a subset that are deemed to be of particularly impressive quality for publication, based on originality of thought, rigor of argumentation, and awareness of relevant literature.
Authors' Rights and Copyright
Authors who publish in Res Cogitans agree to the following terms:
1. First publication rights to articles and other works is granted to Res Cogitans, but full copyright for works published in this journal is retained by the author(s).
2. Authors may enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in Res Cogitans.
3. Authors are permitted to post their work online in institutional repositories or on their own websites. Pre-print versions posted online should include a citation and link to the final published version in Res Cogitans as soon as the issue is available; post-print versions (including the final publisher's version) should include a citation and link to the journal's website.
