Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)
Use of telepsychology has been increasing significantly in recent years, but it is still a relatively new technique that few psychologists have experience with. There has been sufficient research and development of this technique to justify its broader use in the field of psychology, but its unique nature may act as a barrier to some psychologists who could benefit from its use. This paper discusses the current challenges to the use of telepsychology with a focus on the unique ethical and legal issues involved, as well as recommendations on how to address these barriers.
