Abstract

This proj ect studied The Oregon Educational Act for the 21 st Century and its impact on school districts in Oregon. This paper focused on three school districts in Oregon and the Department of Education. This study looked at both House Bill 3565 and House Bill 2991 and how these two bills changed the focus of education in Oregon. The impact the reform act has on school districts in Oregon is great and more changes will come in the near future. Whether people in Oregon like it or not, changes in the school system have begun in Oregon and the better informed and educated people are on the reforms, the more people will understand them and decide if they are helping or hurting students currently enrolled in Oregon public schools and those coming in the future.
