Abstract

The purpose of this analytical research paper is to inform the reader of classroom strategies and systems which encourage and enhance students' intrinsic motivation to learn. I explored active classroom engagement, a positive attitude towards learning, and the physical and emotional needs of students. Qualitative research enabled me to use teacher and student interviews and classroom observation to gain useful and necessary information. I conclude that students need to be a part of their learning, to value what is being presented, and to be given the opportunity to succeed .
