Abstract

In this paper, I took a serious look at how a teacher uses humor in a middle school classroom. My observations were conducted in a seventh grade geography classroom. The method of research included observation of the teacher's use of humor and the students' reaction to the humor. In addition, I informally interviewed the students after the teacher used humor in class. In my literature review, and my observations, I learned about how a teacher's use of humor can have an impact on students' interest and motivation.
