Abstract

This study examines the topic of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADD/ADHD) and how it effects a child's education. The observations of this study are of a first grade student mainstreamed in a first-second-third grade split classroom. This study contains information from published literature, interviews with the student's parents, the student's teacher, and data taken from five months of classroom observation. The conclusions from this study will be dealt with as such. Currently the school systems have yet to admit ADD/ ADHD as a disability. Parents of ADD/ADHD children must become experts in ADD/ADHD. One common problem associated with ADD/ADHD is the parents blaming themselves for their children's misfortune.
