Abstract

This is a case study in experiential learning. Through qualitative research I have illustrated some positive effects that learning through experience can have on students. After defining experiential learning, I examined how it can be used in an elementary classroom. I also reviewed the curriculum of a large metropolitan zoo, and how it can be used by teachers and students. This research indicated that an arena such as a zoo can be used as a productive learning environment.
