To date American high school education has not thoroughly - addressed the Vietnam War. Teachers today largely ignore the war and consequently it is not receiving the emphasis it deserves. This report exposes the current problems of Vietnam War education and explains why the war in Indochina deserves special attention in the educational process, and why it has not received that attention. Problems which face Vietnam War education are discussed along with their solutions. A literature search is included which dramatizes the importance of Vietnam War education and the need for this to be incorporated into the curriculum. Also included are sources that teachers can use in building their own units of study.
