This qualitative research project provides insight into why many of our best public school teachers are leaving the classroom. Through a review of current literature and analysis of interviews with teachers in a middle-level public school, the researcher identifies essential workplace features that contribute to the satisfaction of public school teachers. The researcher also provides a plan for implementing public school reform which includes acknowledgement of essential workplace features.
