This qualitative research paper is concerned with studying the relationship between administrators, students, and teachers in a rural school district. The investigation of these relationships is conducted with the use of interviews, questionnaires, and observations in a small high school. Responses from teachers and students are evaluated. The questions guiding the research are: How do administrative styles effect teacher and student attitudes? How do teachers perceive their relationships with administrators? How do individual personalities effect management styles? What things can administrators do to be more effective?

The research yielded several broad results. Administrative style does effect the general attitude of teachers. Successful administrators are facilitators. Administrators who wish to analyze their own effectiveness may need to look at their own personalities in order to understand their management style.
