Abstract

The writer uses his intern placement for the Fifth Year Master of Arts in Teaching Program as a context in which to study educational strategies leading to higher academic achievement. This project analyzes an existing, successful Advanced Placement History Program at Sherwood High School in Sherwood, Oregon. Stress is placed on how students are currently chosen and what potential improvements to the selection process might be developed.
