Oregon senate mulls comic book bans

Two bills were introduced in the Oregon Senate which would curtail sales of comic books judged obscene. One bill would authorize the creation of a committee to evaluate books sold on magazine stands. Sen. John C.F. Merrifield introduced the aforementioned bill after speaking with various constituents and reading about controversial literature in the news. Membership of the advisory committee was outlined in the article.
