The Oregonian (Portland)
R. D. Haner, Allen Emrich, and Ethel Zevely (authors of the letters)
This is a compilation of three letters to the editor in reaction to a previous article or letter calling for increased censorship of the types of books and materials in public libraries. All three writers appear to agree that some books are indecent, but that either the library is doing well enough, that adults are the majority of individuals reading the books and not children, or that more focus should go towards cleaning up newstands.
