Library visitor browses banned books at the Sheridan Library.
Edna Gallton of Dansville, N.Y. ignores warnings and browses among banned books heaped on a table at Sheridan Public Library during Banned Books Week. The pile of books diminished steadily as patrons discovered old favorites in the pile and checked them out, librarian said.
The Sheridan city librarian expressed appreciation to The Sun for its promotion of Banned Books Week. Library visitors were amazed at the banned books displayed, and checked out many of the books. One elderly man commented that he had fought and been injured in Germany during WWII to stop this kind of censorship.
