Wellness: stress management

The Eagle Point school board voted to remove, “Wellness: Stress Management,” a book used in supplemental health readings by high school students. The book was challenged by three people for supporting eastern religious practices, such as yoga and transcendental meditation, but not including Christian prayer. The school district has a policy which allows parents to influence the classroom materials their children use. Last spring, parents and concerned community members objected to a proposed social studies text that was rejected as inappropriate.
