Judy Harold, children’s librarian, may test the recent Springfield charter amendment by accepting a donation of two pro-homosexual books. The amendment prohibits city government from promoting homosexuality. “Daddy’s Roommate” and “Heather has two Mommies” are at the center of controversy because some residents argue that they are not appropriate for children. If the books are rejected because they violate the terms of the charter amendment, the American Civil Liberties Union plans to file a suit to challenge the decision.
