Brief Bio Sketch

Amy Coplen is a tenured associate professor and Program Director for the School of Dental Hygiene Studies at Pacific University. She began teaching at Pacific University in 2009. She graduated with her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in dental hygiene at the University of Michigan. She has a passion for providing access to care to underserved populations and coordinates the dental hygiene students’ involvement with project homeless as well as gone on several humanitarian trips with students. Her research interests include interprofessional education and exploring alternative dental workforce models to reach individuals with limited access to care. She previously served as Associate Dean for Interprofessional Education at Pacific University College of Health Professions and continues to serve as co-editor in chief of the Health and Interprofessional Practice Journal.
