Standard O.E.P. near point tests were run on 20 male students ranging in age from 24 to 29. Two conditions were tested; eyes directed toward the horizon and eyes depressed 25 degrees while head was held vertical. Testing in the depressed position was accomplished by tilting a Greens refractor 25 degrees. The magnitude of change was slight but differences were found significant by statistical evaluation for 13B, 14A O.D., 148 minus pre-set O.D., 16B recovery, 20 recovery (without compensating for vertex distance), and 21 blur out and recovery. Ranges in some instances were very high and this type of testing could be beneficial for those at the extremes of the range.
