Abstract

This paper discusses the development of a basic language computer program that allows optometric data to be displayed in color on a standard television screen in a fashion similar to the traditional graphical analysis format advocated by Fry and Hofstetter. The programs are presented into distinct forms. One form incorporates a series of correction factors while the other does not, allowing for a visual comparison of corrected and uncorrected data. An analysis is performed to determine whether the correction factors result in an improvement of the apparent validity of the findings being plotted. It was concluded that the inclusion of correction factors does result in a significant improvement in the plotting of the data, especially at near distance.
