E-Portfolios require that students and faculty alike think about how to best represent themselves and their work and then to integrate that work into a coherent narrative--in other words, to create a digital academic identity. At Pacific University, we are supporting a number of courses where students use authentic web-development tools to create their e-portfolios. By using these tools, students are introduced to both authentic technologies and methods of digital design to develop these academic identities—skills that can then be applied to the students’ civic academic and professional lives.
