The effects of fatiguing isometric and isotonic wrist contractions on a subsequent speed-accuracy task were compared. Active stretching of the wrist extensors via antagonistic contraction of the wrist flexors after fatigue was also utilized and compared with speed-accuracy performance of non-stretched, fatigued subjects. Comparison between isometric and isotonic fatigue effects on speed-accuracy was not significant (p = .4558). Subjects who actively stretched after fatigue tended to show decreased speed-accuracy performance when compared to fatigue-only subjects (p = .0534). Interaction between fatigue type and antagonist contraction was not seen (p = .7317).
