Fine motor speed and accuracy of 15 Zen meditators (mean 8 years experience) were compared to 15 non-meditators. Subjects used dominant and non-dominant hand to trace the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test-Motor Accuracy form, a butterfly-shaped pattern under stress and non-stress conditions. Meditators and non-meditators received time and error scores for each of the four trials. Unpaired t-test results demonstrated a lack of significant differences in time and error scores between each groups' dominant/non-dominant hand under stress and non-stress conditions.
