Students apply to and are interviewed by one or more training sites. Students will be notified of approval to apply to potential placements as soon as possible after submitting the required forms. Once notified of a potential community placement, students will provide the Practicum Placement Application, CV, a cover letter, and any other materials requested by the site to the site supervisor or Training Director, as indicated, prior to interview at the site. Completed copies of the Practicum Placement Application will be placed in students’ academic files. Supervisors and/or Training Directors will make offers to students following interviews. The student should notify his or her Clinical Mentor, the Clinical Training Manager, and the DCT upon acceptance at a site.

Prior to starting the placement, students and supervisors must agree upon the total number of hours and length of service at the site. Once the start and end dates are approved by the DCT, a Statement of Expectations that identifies the responsibilities of the student, the supervisor, and SGP will be issued.
