The present paper reviews the risk factors associated with children and adolescents with CD and suicidal behavior, namely factors related to the child, parents, and family. Youth with CD have been found to have higher than expected rates of suicidal behavior, yet very little research has focused on understanding the association between CD and suicidal behavior. As such, this review compares the risk factors for youth with CD and youth with CD and suicidal behavior in order to determine if there are factors that differentiate between the two groups of youth. In addition, the conclusions drawn from this review are discussed and implications for treatment and further research are suggested.
