Library board votes to keep books

7 July 1993

Abstract

Dorothy Oak, a citizen of Bend, challenged 17 books about homosexuality and asked that they be removed from the Deschutes County Library. Members of the Central Oregon Coalition for Human Dignity, a civil rights organization, attended the meeting and asked the board to keep them. The library board supported Library Director Ralph Delamarter's recommendation to retain the books.
