Student classroom populations are becoming increasingly diverse in terms of the student's academic ability and their social and family backgrounds. This enlarging spectrum of variance among students, through law and litigation, are being taught in the regular classroom. How to deliver effective instruction to an increasingly heterogeneous student population continues to be the focus of numerous studies which attempt to provide students with academic success. These efforts fall under the rubric of adaptive educational strategies. This paper discusses published methods that are currently in practice, and continues with the author's research on adaptive educational strategies presently employed in a first/second grade blended class and fourth grade class in the same elementary school.
