1 May 1954

Abstract

This study is intended to show how the educational finances of the State of Oregon have increased, and the changing relationships , in finances and the many significant factors in educational finances from 1940 to 1950. It does not intend to show that Oregon's schools have become better institutions of .learning. Neither does it intend to show how efficiently the tax dollar has been used, or how the educational institutions could be improved. This, therefore is a study in which the history of the educational finances for the State of Oregon, for schools, from primary to and including senior High Schools, has been considered for the years 1940 to 1950, inclusive. It does not consider the Junior College, College, University or Trade, School level of education. This study is on a statewide level, not on a school district, county, or city level.
