OCA seeks ban on 19 books

15 June 1993

Abstract

Dorothy Oak, a leader of the Oregon Citizen's Alliance, challenged 19 books that refer to homosexuality owned by the Bend High School Library and Deschutes County Library. Betty Emmert, director of the Klamath County Library, noted that the Oregon Library Association is "emphatically opposed to censorship", and libraries provide materials that support multiple perspectives.
