This literature review comprehensively addresses research and theory regarding clinical interviewing with multicultural populations in terms of its application and adherence to the established standards of multicultural competence suggested by members of the American Psychological Association. The sources reviewed demonstrate an overwhelming consistency in offered reconimendations. Although the advice is consistent, proposals by scholars still remain vague and, therefore, difficult to enact in practice. Additionally, the literature considered does not represent non-directive clinical perspectives or minority therapist concerns.
