The role of cortical plasticity in amblyopia

20 May 1990

Abstract

A review of the functional aspects of amblyopia was performed with specific emphasis on the mechanism of cortical plasticity. An in-depth literature review was conducted examining current research and theories on the cortical mechanisms of plasticity. New evidence is presented confirming prior research into CNS noradrenergic neurotransmission as a gate for the plasticity factor m neuronal development.
