Playboy foes take fight to powerless council

20 March 1996

Abstract

Residents of Lake Oswego circulated a petition asking the public library to change their materials selection policy after the library subscribed to "Playboy" magazine. The Lake Oswego library board was set to meet and hear comments from the public about the issue. A committee of library staff had reviewed Library Director Carole Dickerson's decision to add it and concluded she had followed the library's policy. The article also includes information on materials removed from libraries in Oregon.
