A needless conflict: All sides share blame in book dispute

18 March 2000

Abstract

Parents of a fifth grader in Elizabeth Page Elementary School protested to "My Brother Sam is Dead" being used in the classroom. Tensions between the parent raising the issue and the school members grew hostile and proper procedures were not followed for the challenge. The book was eventually restored to the classroom.
