Alzheimer’s Disease: Mary’s Journey Through the Health-care System

Abstract

This case revolved around a 72 year old, recently widowed, woman named Mary who is beginning to experience changes in her daily routine. While the potential exists for her to “fall through the cracks” of the health care system, she is fortunate enough to encounter health-care professionals who screen and make appropriate referrals.

Professions included: dental hygiene, occupational therapy, pharmacy, psychology, physical therapy, physician assistant.
