Abstract
The Scappoose Library District Board of Directors passed a resolution to oppose Ballot Measure 9. If passed, the measure would amend Oregon’s Constitution and prohibit state and local governments from using public funds or property to promote homosexuality. The measure could lead to censorship of library collections and the removal of offensive books from shelves. The board affirmed its policy to protect intellectual freedom and to oppose censorship.
