Book issue prompts letter

28 September 1988

A letter in support of Pat Smith, written by a fellow teacher. The letter calls for the superintendent to reconsider the books challenged by parents, more than "trained professionals," as they provide the tax dollars and their ideas should rank as more influential than teachers or librarians. She concurs that the books are anti-Christian and contain vulgar language and are discriminatory. Quotes from the books are included.
