Filmstrip ruling expected

7 July 1985

The Lake Oswego school board will meet to discuss whether the filmstrip “The Headless Cupid” will be retained in Forest Hills Elementary School. Jeanne Sweet had concerns about the material and felt that it should not be allowed in the school. She felt that the film dealt with the occult and that it was inappropriate for children. Kent Koski, school board chairman, said that the film is pretty innocent. In the story a girl tries to make friends and fit in by forming a club that requires a new member to go through séances and other actives. In the end she tells everyone that she made everything up and is accepted.
