Abstract
Librarians fear that Measure 9 will lead to censorship of library collections, particularly elementary and secondary school libraries. The measure prohibits the use of government property or money to promote or facilitate homosexuality. Books that are judged inappropriate for children will likely be removed from libraries. Fred A. Stickel, president and publisher of The Oregonian, makes an appeal to voters to reject the anti-gay rights measure.
