Book showing ill view of logging axed

Bernie Conrad, grandfather of a Grants Pass first grader, protested the inclusion of Rita Crosby's "Help the Forest," which depicts logging unfavorably, in his grandson's classroom. The first grade teacher contacted the district's curriculum director, who agreed that the book should be removed, citing it as disrespectful for their community, and portraying logging and loggers inaccurately.
