Lawsuit filed against Seaside library

2 March 2012

A lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court against the Seaside Public Library. Liberty Counsel, a Florida-based non-profit organization, filed the lawsuit claiming that the library’s meeting room policy violated constitutional rights to free speech and equal protection. The library’s policy says that meeting rooms cannot be used for religious services or proselytizing. The main purpose of offering meeting rooms free to community groups and individuals is to promote educational enrichment and lifelong learning.
