Trustees oppose measure 9

24 September 1992

The Lake Oswego Library Board has unanimously agreed to oppose Measure 9. The board has followed the lead of the American Library Association and the Oregon Library Association to strongly oppose Measure 9. The measure would block the state from any actions that could be perceived to encourage homosexuality and it would also require schools and agencies to label gay and lesbian lifestyle as abnormal. The library board says that they believe that this measure would hinder the availability of information and would be used to target the library.
