This letter, submitted by Mrs. Robert Y. Thornton, is written in response to a previous article or letter complaining about service at the state library, in particular the speed with which one could receive ordered books and reading material in the library. The author of this article states that the library has a responsibility to keep books and audio-visual materials in stock that the public wants to borrow, even materials with "low" intellectual standards. The author claims that anyone who comes to the library is a taxpayer and therefore deserves the same consideration as a serious student. She commends Oregon State Librarian Eleanor Stephens for her work.
